Directions for submitting a TASKLIST to Support

What a TASKLIST does:

  1. Displays a list of applications and services with their Process ID (PID) for all tasks running on either a local or a remote computer.

How to submit to Support:

  1. Open a Command Prompt from the Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories and once the Command Prompt opens type TASKLIST.

  2. Then from the Start Menu select Notepad from All Programs.

    This will open a Notepad (text editor.)

  3. Then, select all the text in the Command Prompt window.

    Then copy all the text to the Clipboard. (CTRL C)

  4. Then paste in the text to the Notepad opened at the prior step.

  5. Save the text document so that it can be attached and uploaded to Support when submitting a ticket. (The name of the .txt file is not important and can be saved as untitled.txt or tasklist.txt. Or you may simply copy and paste the text from the Notepad into the ticket.)
