How to view the details of a problem report, save the details, and submit to support

You can view problem report details for any problem that your computer has reported to Microsoft. This will also allow you to save those details for submitting to Support in order to make any troubleshooting efforts more effective. Here's how:

1. With Windows 7, view problem report details for any problem that your computer has reported, open the Action Center. (With Windows Vista, under Control Panel, Open Problem Reports and Solutions to view the problem report history. Note that these instructions apply, for the most part, to Windows 7.)
2. Click Maintenance.
3. Under Check for solutions to problem reports, click View reliability history.
4. You may save the Reliability Report, exporting it to a Reliability Monitor Report file (*.XML), by clicking “Save reliability history…” selecting a location such as the desktop, naming the file and clicking the Save button.

5. In the list of reliability details, double-click any item to view its technical details.
6. Left click on “Copy to clipboard” and then open Notepad. Press CTRL + V (hold the CTRL key then press the V key) to paste the details from the problem report to the untitled notepad. Save the details as a text file by pressing CTRL + S, selecting a location such as the desktop, naming the file problemdetails.txt, and clicking the Save button.
